Hard work and patience always have a way of showing up when it matters most. It’s about trusting the process, choosing the right team, staying ready, and believing that the bigger picture is still unfolding even when you can’t see it yet!
Baseball (and 30+ combined years in real estate!) teaches you this.
Sarah's oldest son, Nathan, showed enormous maturity last Fall when deciding to step away from a competitive baseball team that he had called home for 2 years. This team did not fill him up, instead he realized that it made him feel bad on most days. Nathan decided to go back to a rec league to have fun and remember why he loved baseball to begin with. Everyone felt he should shop around for another travel team, but we decided as a family that we needed him to go back to having fun, and that the right opportunity will be lead to him when the time was right.
Several months into this "fun" Spring league, unbeknownst to him, he was being watched by an undefeated competitive team. They watched his stats and knew if they didn't pick him up mid-season from rec, someone else might. Nathan is now officially back in competitive baseball, on an even better team than before, that is fulfilling and gives him joy (and he really loves their "drippy" uniforms!)!
Real estate is no different.
Just like in baseball, success in real estate is about trusting the process, a valued team of advisors (your head coaches or MOM), and continuing to put your best foot forward in any market conditions - the right time to buy or sell is always when it is the right time or you. No one can accurately "time" market conditions.
Some of the best opportunities come from situations that didn’t make sense at first. The house that didn’t work out leads a family to the perfect home. The deal that fell through opens the door to a better one. The path you thought you were supposed to take changes completely (an unexpected job transfer, a newly empty nest, another baby!) and somehow turns out better than you imagined.
Sometimes the biggest wins in life on the baseball field and in real estate come from the innings you never saw coming.

What does this mean? Our spring market has experienced a slow start but is now picking up steam as of this week! The special homes are selling within five days with multiple offers. Prior, buyers have been showing strong interest but taking their time, perhaps feeling the uncertainty in the headlines again. In summary, this is changing week-by-week/house-by-house so it's important to note the advantages this brings if you're housing needs are changing. And even more important to be in touch with us on how to navigate the unpredictability of this market now. Overall, we are looking at a market that's normalizing after years of accelerated prices/low interest rates.
For sellers, more important than ever to go to market priced accurately down to the per sq/ft dollar of recent sold comparable sales. With medians down, sellers need their homes to be perfect in pre-market prep and pricing and to accommodate for any property challenges, i.e. bedroom layout, a downslope lot, leaning fences, kitchen/bathroom updates needed.
For buyers, this is a market where competition is thinning (typically seeing 2 offers) and is favoring you with more homes to choose from with less competition. But, still extremely important to be ready early, talk to us about being properly prepared!
